Speaker Bio: Somnath has been an active volunteer with AID since 2002 being involved in several projects, campaigns and publication efforts. He has spent time with several projects across India and continues to do so every year. After Cyclone Aila in 2009, Somnath mobilized volunteers and partners on the ground to initiate the sustainable agriculture work in Sunderbans. He works closely with several AID partners who work with marginalized tribal communities in India. Since November 2011, has been serving as the Development Coordinator of AID. In this role he is involved in capacity building of the chapters, volunteers, streamlining organizational processes and communicating AID’s work effectively to the larger community.
